Trying to find an actual product that works can be a very hard task in its self. There are basically two types of products.
The first product is Shark Stay Clean this is an apply and leave product that removes green algae, kills moss and organic material. Stay Clean starts working to remove algae and your patio will become cleaner as the days and weeks pass.
Stay Clean is a similar product to Patio Magic and Wet and Forget using the same ingredients the only difference is Stay Clean is 10 times stronger than Patio Magic which means it can be diluted, meaning it covers a lot more paving which also means better value for you. Stay Clean is concentrated so it needs less packaging which is better for the environment.
This type of product will remove algae and organic growth but will not remove black spots. To remove black spots you need to use the second type of product which is Instant Clean.
Instant Clean is exactly what the name suggests it cleans your patio by removing algae, black spot and all organic growth within one hour of applying, it is biodegradable, child and pet safe once dry.
Instant Cleans main ingredient is sodium hypochlorite which is the only thing that will remove black spot from your paving. Instant Clean works by attaching itself to the black spot and kills it by oxidising it. Instant cleans other ingredient is a surfactant soap, this detaches the black spot from the stone and encapsulates the black spot and holds it until you rinse it off.
Other brands of black spot removers all use sodium hypochlorite in their products, but what makes Instant Clean superior to all other patio black spot removers is Instant Clean contains 15% sodium hypochlorite and other brands use anything from 1-10% sodium hypochlorite which means Shark Instant Clean is at least 50% stronger than other products. This means you can dilute Instant Clean making more product which is better value for money and with it being highly concentrated means less packaging which is better for the environment.
The other factor that makes Instant Clean a superior product is that we have added a surfactant (soap). Adding surfactant has many advantages it boosts the strength of the sodium hypochlorite so you need to use less.
Adding surfactant breaks water surface tension which means instead of the liquid lying on top of your paving like little droplets the surface tension is broken allowing the black spot remover to soak into the paving and working deep into the stone making it more affective.
The other advantage of adding a surfactant is that it makes soap bubbles that make Instant Clean stick to the stone rather than just running off, so this keeps the product on the paving longer allowing it to do its magic.
- Simply apply to surface via garden pump up sprayer, watering can or brush and bucket.
- Wait one hour and rinse it's that simple.
