So the real answer to when should I clean my patio, is whatever is best for you.
Personally I clean my patio in spring. I pressure wash it to remove all the loose debris. Then I apply a patio cleaner, I use our product Instant Clean. The reason I do this is because after removing dirt with a pressure washer it looks clean but what you cannot see is all the algae and black spot spores that are still attached to your patio, pressure washing will not remove black spot from your patio. Instant Clean will not only remove the dirt that pressure washing has missed but it kills and removes all algae spores and black spot. By removing all algae spores your patio will be stay cleaner for longer it will also remove all organic growth and sanities your paving.
In the winter I apply Stay Clean, Stay Clean is a wet and forget type of product you simply apply and leave it. By doing this it will continue to clean your patio until spring when it's time to repeat the cleaning process. If you follow these steps your patio will be free from algae and black spot forever.
